Warzone Adding Mechagodzilla Bundle and More

Season 3 for Call of Duty: Warzone is rapidly approaching and in addition to refreshed content for players, it also adds in a very unexpected crossover. Over the past couple of weeks, Activision has been teasing the arrival of Monsterverse characters like Godzilla and King Kong. The jungle map Caldera appears to be the perfect location to unleash these monsters, with various teaser trailers for Warzone hinting at the destruction monsters like King Kong can unleash.

Following all of the teasing, rumors, and speculation, Activision finally revealed Season 3 as Operation Monarch. Fans got their first look at the fearsome monsters in Warzone's Season 3 Battle Pass trailer where Godzilla would attack players from afar, while King Kong poses more of a direct threat to players running around the Battle Royale map. In addition, the trailer revealed some of the new weapons, operator Mateo, cosmetic skins, and new maps coming at the start of Classified Arms season 3.

In addition, Activision also revealed new in-store bundles based on the Monsterverse that players can pick up. While King Kong and Godzilla may be the featured monsters for this season, they're certainly not the only ones players may be familiar with. Mechagodzilla, humanity's attempt at taking down Godzilla, has inspired a new bundle which give splayers the the Legendary “Mechagodzilla” Operator Skin for Constanze as well as nine additional items from MVP highlights, intros, Legendary Cybernetic Destroyer Assault Rifle, Legendary Neural Uplink SMG, and Nanometal Tail Blade melee weapon.

In addition, Call of Duty: Warzone has a bonus limited time bundle incentive for those who pick up any two of Godzilla, King Kong, and Mechagodzilla bundles before June 16. Purchasing any two will unlock the Godzilla vs. Kong Weapon Sticker and the Superspecies Player Title, though purchasing all three will grant the Legendary Apex Phase Rifle SMG. These items will be sent out later in Season 3 when the Reloaded update arrives.

While the inclusion of titanic sized monsters like Godzilla and King Kong is likely something Warzone players never expected to see, it's another step in a long line of crossovers that the popular game has seen over the years. Past crossover events have covered plenty of franchises and genres from horror icons like Ghostface and Jigsaw, to a special limited time event that covered 80s action stars like John McClane from Die Hard and Sylvester Stallone and his character, Rambo.

Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone are available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Season 3 will launch April 27.
